Talk to a Point Chev electrician
Phone 021 156 4005, day or night. For work that can be planned, the enquiry form lower on this page reaches the same team.
Before you pick up the phone
Three details make the first conversation shorter. Roughly when was the house built? Most homes on the peninsula went up between the 1920s and the 1940s, and knowing whether yours is a bungalow, a state house or one of the newer places toward the northern tip tells us a good deal about the wiring we are likely to meet. Does the switchboard have fuses or circuit breakers? And is the trouble in one room, on one circuit, or across the whole property?
When the whole street is dark, look up your address on Vector's outage page first, because no electrician can switch the network back on. When only your place is off, or a socket, switch or board is hot, smoking or sparking, ring us straight away, whatever the time; our after-hours call-out page explains what happens next.
Our electricians cover Point Chevalier, Westmere, Waterview, Mount Albert, Grey Lynn, Kingsland and Avondale, and travel right across Auckland, the North Shore included. Whoever turns up, ask to see their practising licence: WorkSafe recommends checking it, expiry date and all, for any electrical worker you hire.
Planning ahead rather than fixing a fault? Read how we approach rewiring an interwar house or replacing an old fuse board, then use the form to send the address and a description of what the board looks like.
